New York (AP) Anthony Davis, the New York Giants’ leading scorer and top rebounder, has missed his fourth straight game with a sore left foot.
The Knicks, who will try to avoid their longest losing streak of the season, beat the Chicago Bulls 111-107 on Sunday night in a rematch of last season’s first meeting between the two teams.
Davis has averaged 23.3 points and 6.7 rebounds in his last three games and has played the last seven with a foot contusion.
He’s missed 10 of 11 games this season.
Coach Derek Fisher said Tuesday the veteran forward has been “a little sore” but he expects to play in the fourth quarter on Thursday against Miami.
Coach Mike Woodson said on Tuesday that he expects Davis to return Thursday, but he didn’t specify how long.
Davis missed three games in the third quarter and had been limited to 16 minutes during a win against the Chicago Clippers on Nov. 14.
Coach Woodson, who said Davis had been “fine” since his return, said the Knicks will try for a three-game winning streak.
